What a price on this table is, exactly
It is an aggregate of the last traded price across a set of venues, weighted by volume. Three consequences follow, and all three matter more than the number itself.
- It is not the price you will get. You trade on one venue, against its order book, and your fill depends on your size relative to the depth available. How orders work explains the gap.
- A percentage change is not a measure of risk. Two assets that moved 5% can carry entirely different risk to a position, depending on your size and where your stop sits.
- A 24-hour window is an arbitrary frame. It starts wherever the clock happened to be. Nothing about the market resets at midnight UTC.
